Mona Husni immigrated from Egypt at the age of 5 and grew up primarily in Florida. Attending the University of Florida, she earned a Bachelor of Design in Architecture. After her studies, she moved to Seattle, WA, where an interest in Furniture Design developed and lead to building custom furniture in both wood and metal. This experience sparked the desire to create her own art, as she has always loved the creative process.

After earning a Master of Fine Arts in Sculpture from Pratt Institute, she moved to San Francisco. There she practiced architecture until the need to pursue art in a beautiful environment lead her to Maui, HI. During this time, she learned the art of encaustics and focused her efforts on this challenging and fun medium.

Now back in Florida, she continues to pursue both art and architecture. Currently working in acrylics and oils, her body of work expresses what is intriguing and beautiful about the world. Mona does this by taking an intimate, close-up view of a subject, which shows its distinctive characteristics. Simply presented, these are what constitute the dramatic features of the subject and bring the work to life.
